Wild Lavender

Wild Lavender coloring-up

This second generation Wild Lavender guppy is just starting to color up. This male's father was a hybrid Lavender Snakeskin (male) and Goleta Darts (female) cross. The male's mother was a pure Goleta Darts guppy. At it has a very reflective lavender sheen that is competing with a metallic gold around the tail. I plan to take this guy or one of his brothers and breed it with a group of Goleta Darts.

Wild Lavender

This is the end result of a cross that I did between my Goleta Darts wild (female) and my Lavender Snakeskin (male) guppy strains. It's hard to believe, but most of the lavender on this little guy has been washed out in the photograph. The dark racing stripes down his side that appear black are actually dark lavender in real life. Also the gold and yellow in the picture appears to be more of a bronze to the naked eye.
